WoW Hardcore Casual's (WoD 6.1) - Getting Back Into PvP

Hey everyone, after a long hiatus from WoW and PvP in general, I have decided to come back and see what's happened with all the changes since WoD launched.

I was happy with a lot of the changes I've seen so far. Balance in arenas seems to be a lot closer than it was at the end of MoP. I hopped into some 2v2 skirmishes and then some rated matches immediately after dinging level 100 and was surprised that I could pose a threat to the enemy. Well timed CC chains, positioning and damage/heal pumping still seem to rule the game play, but it feels more balanced from the perspective of being an under geared player. In MoP it would have been like a fly on an elephant's back, but now it's closer to a lion fighting a tiger.

The biggest change I've noticed thus far is honestly the balance of horde and alliance. Where I used to wait for less than a minute for battlegrounds, I'm now dilly dallying around for 20 minutes at times as alliance. I'm happy they (finally) gave alliance the FOTM race in PvP, but I do miss those fast queues. Hopefully one day blizzard will realize that having a master race in the game will always be a bad thing on the whole.

I wish they would either remove racial abilities from PvP all together, or simply mirror all the racial abilities and be done with it. In a perfect world they would find some kind of balance, but despite their best efforts in the last 10 years, it has become apparent that this perfection is impossible. I'd also love to see alliance and horde playing side by side in arenas, as I have a few horde friends that I'd love to play with, and after a decade of messed up queueing issues, you'd think they would just throw in the towel and do the sensible thing.
